Two slices of bread
And a world of possibilities in-between
Give me half a chance
And I’ll make the finest sandwich
You’ve ever seen

There are no rules
For the feast
That you can make
With flour and yeast
And a filling of your choice
Anything goes
You can build it way up
Way up to your nose

Pack it with meat
And vegetables too
Until you have a roast dinner sandwich
Or even a stew
You could warm it
Or toast it
Or eat it all raw
I feel sorry for you
If you haven’t had
A sandwich before

For the sandwich is the food
I like the most
You would have to be a fool
Not to love the loaf.

Sandwiches - A short funny poem about the best thing you can do with bread.
