A young kangaroo
Played peekaboo
With a Koala Bear
Hiding inside
Her momma’s pouch
So when the bear peeked
She wasn’t there

But the years they flew
And the kanga she grew
It became more difficult for her to hide
With her own little joey
Inside her front pocket
Who’d also come along for the ride

A Russian doll
Of marsupials
Was too much for the old grand ‘roo
So her daughter hopped out
Gave up her game
And found something else to do

But not the bear
He’s still playing
That old game of peekaboo
Except now when it plays
It passes its days
With a new young kangaroo.
